Binaal Billa Family Violence Prevention Legal Service is based in Forbes, NSW. Binaal Billa provides outreach services to Parkes, Peak Hill, West Wyalong, Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo, Murrin Bridge, Grenfell, Cowra, Young, Tottenham, Trundle and Tullamore. FVPLS are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations meaningful it is led an operated by Aboriginal local people. This ensures that the service is provided in a culturally safe and appropriate manner.

Binaal Billa’s services are provided in a holistic model where our clients and children are supported with advocacy, case management, court support, counselling services, advice, intervention and referral to other organisations.

Binaal Billa Family Violence Prevention Legal Service has a team of professional community support workers, who are driven and passionate to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim (survivors) of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault receive support through trauma informed holistic case management, which includes assistance with Victims’ Services compensation claims, court support, internal and external referrals to support services, advocacy, access to Early intervention and prevention programs and community legal education, free legal advice/assistance with matters such as ADVO’s, family law, care and protection and parenting plans.

Legal Services

Binaal Billa and Central Tablelands and Blue Mountains Community Legal Centre are working in partnership to ensure that quality legal services are being provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced violence.

Lawyers from CTBMCLC visit the Binaal Billa office in Forbes during the first and third weeks of the month. Appointments with the lawyers can be made directly with the community support staff at the Binaal Billa office. Outside of the lawyers face to face visits, phone advice can be provided. Binaal Billa staff will do an intake with clients to gain consent and pass on details to CTBMCLC.
